Position: Caregiver
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must show proof of valid car insurance
- Clear a criminal background study
- Clear a DMV background check
- Complete required training
- Approachable and a strong sense of teamwork
- 2 years of experience working within the elderly and disabled individuals
- Must be able to safely transport the individual to and from their destinations
- Must have patience, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual
- 1 or more year(s) of experience in a medical health care setting
Responsibilities (based on client’s care plan). May include the following:
- Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
- Charting or taking notes for others to review
- Providing companionship and supportive listening
- Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
- Feeding clients
- Responding to emergency situations
- Transporting client to appointments using your personal vehicle
- Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
- Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
Training is completed after the hiring process and annually. DSP Training may or may not include the following:
- Communication skills
- Community living and mobility
- Interpersonal skills
- Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
- Assist with self-care tasks and self-preservation.
- Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills.
- Household management – housekeeping; laundry; meal-prep
- ADLS – Activities of Daily Living
