AWCT is hiring a full-time TADs Coordinator for our Chicago NS location. This is an on-site position working Sunday – Wednesday 5:30am – 5:30pm. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market considerations. Summary
This position maintains and supports all rail load building functions utilizing Norfolk Southern proprietary inventory software as well as other inventory systems. Coordinates railcar activity with representatives of Norfolk Southern, completes necessary documents, and ensures facility paper flow is complete and accurate. This position assists the Norfolk Southern and AWCT management team with day to day operations and special projects. Interfaces with all AWCT staff and associates, corporate associates, transportation representatives (rail).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately enter, maintain, and monitor railcar inventory data within the Norfolk Southern system to ensure real‑time accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and communicate throughout the shift with AWCT management, railroad management, and crew members regarding railcar arrivals, departures, availability, and operational status.
- Verify that proper way billing is applied, documented, and reported prior to railcar deletion.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues as they arise to minimize disruptions.
- Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly operational records and reports for AWCT and Norfolk Southern.
- Answer facility phone calls and provide administrative and operational support to customers as directed by facility management.
- Adapt effectively to changing operational demands, maintain regular and reliable attendance, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a professional, ethical, and positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with customers, vendors, coworkers, railroad personnel, and management.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license required and must be maintained
- Ability to obtain and maintain e‑RAILSAFE clearance
- Intermediate computer skills
- Proficient word processing, spreadsheet, and email skills
- Knowledge of general office and business practices, equipment, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors
- Effective planning, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, management, railroad personnel, customers, and outside representatives
- Professional and ethical conduct, including treating others with respect, maintaining a positive demeanor, and adapting productively to change
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑pressure or rapidly changing situations

Preferred Qualifications
- Six to-12 months office environment experience
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to adapt to various software systems which are proprietary to the railroad.
- Prior administrative, rail operations, logistics, or customer‑facing experience preferred.
