S&L Lumber - 5th Avenue is a leading building material supplier in the central Ohio area. We are seeking a full-time driver with either a Class A CDL.
Normal hours of work are Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. Some additional overtime may be required at the discretion of the General Manager.
Wages: Starting rate is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience. Opportunity for $1.00 per hour increases at 90 and 180 days based on satisfactory performance.
Job Purpose: To deliver products to job sites
Scope of Responsibilities: Delivers company products to jobsites, sometimes in adverse conditions; Picks up returns from jobsites; Hauls stock to other locations; Helps in yard when needed; Assists with annual inventory
Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skill, Training, Licenses, Experience and/or Abilities:
· 1-3 Years of experience operating tractor-trailer
· Candidate must have a CDL Class A
· Some previous knowledge of the Central Ohio area preferred
· Candidate must maintain an excellent service attitude
· Candidate must have high level of accuracy
· Basic math skills are required
· Ability to read and write
· Candidate must be able to make quick decisions
· Candidate must be dependable and timely
· Candidate must be alert at all times
Equipment/Software/Technology used:
· Frequent use of forklifts
· Frequent use of delivery vehicles
· Occasional use of mill saws
Essential physical and mental functions:
· Candidate must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
· Candidate must be able to operate a forklift safely
· Candidate must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely
· Candidate must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
· Candidate must be able to climb in and out of forklifts/ delivery trucks
· Candidate must be able to handle outdoor conditions
Working Conditions:
Outdoor weather conditions including cold, heat, snow, wind, ice, rain, etc.
Safety Requirements:
All employees are expected to adhere to the safety regulations set forth by OSHA and company policies. This may include, but is not limited to; eye protection in plants, hardhats outdoors, seat belts worn in all company vehicles, limited cell phone use and regular safety training.
Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as needed.
