New Beginnings of Central Florida is seeking dependable, hardworking, and service-minded individuals to join our Thrift Store team. This role supports the daily operation of our thrift stores through a combination of customer service, merchandising, donation processing, and/or pickup and delivery responsibilities.
Team members may focus primarily on in-store operations or pickup and delivery services, depending on experience, qualifications, scheduling, and the needs of the organization. Some team members may assist across both areas.
Responsibilities May Include:
In-Store Operations
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to shoppers and donors
- Operate the cash register/POS system and accurately process transactions
- Receive, sort, price, organize, and display donated merchandise
- Stock and maintain an attractive, organized sales floor
- Assist customers with merchandise and purchases
- Help maintain clean and organized sales, donation, and backroom areas
- Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
- Work alongside staff and volunteers to meet daily store goals
Pickup, Delivery & Donation Support
- Safely operate an organizational box truck for scheduled pickups and deliveries
- Pick up furniture, household goods, and other approved donations from homes, businesses, and community partners
- Deliver purchased merchandise and other items as scheduled
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload furniture and merchandise
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with donors and customers in the community
- Assist in determining whether donations meet organizational acceptance guidelines
- Complete basic vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized truck and accurate pickup/delivery information
- Follow all traffic laws and organizational safety procedures
What We're Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are dependable, positive, hardworking, and willing to jump in wherever needed. Retail, customer service, warehouse, moving, delivery, or similar experience is preferred but not required.
Candidates interested in driving responsibilities must possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to safely operate a box truck.
This is an active position that may require prolonged standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving furniture and donated merchandise, with assistance and appropriate equipment when necessary.
