Duties
- Safely operate various passenger vehicles including vans, shuttle buses, and specialized medical transportation vans on local routes
- Transport clients to scheduled medical appointments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal safety and performance
- Follow all state transportation regulations, traffic laws, and company policies during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or issues that may arise
- Complete accurate documentation of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections as required
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or bus driver with a strong understanding of passenger vehicle operation
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time directions
- Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting passengers or managing luggage or mobility aids
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients
- Knowledge of local driving routes, heavy lifting techniques, and adherence to all relevant state transportation regulations
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and reporting maintenance issues or incidents
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., chauffeur driving license or commercial driver’s license)
