Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including countertops, floors, sinks, and storage spaces in accordance with sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with guest service when needed
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and prepared foods
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including manual handling procedures and sanitation regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation practices is a plus
- Experience with dishwashing or kitchen cleaning tasks demonstrates reliability in maintaining hygiene standards
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or equipment
- Basic knife skills or food handling experience can be beneficial for supporting food prep activities
- Previous banquet or catering experience is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for working in fast-paced settings is essential
