About the Role
As our Customer Support Clerk, you'll be the friendly face and voice of DaisyBelle — greeting clients and their pups at the front desk, managing bookings, answering phones, ringing up sales, and keeping the shop clean, stocked, and welcoming. This is a hands-on role that blends customer service with real dog handling, so comfort and confidence around dogs of all sizes and temperaments is a must.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in customers and their dogs at reception with a warm, professional attitude
- Manage appointment bookings, scheduling, and client records using our booking software
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
- Provide accurate product and service knowledge to customers, including grooming services and retail merchandise
- Safely handle and manage dogs in the lobby and during check-in/check-out, following proper dog handling and safety protocols
- Assist with merchandising: stocking shelves, building displays, and keeping the retail area organized and appealing
- Process payments and handle cash accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Perform heavy daily cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, trash removal, restocking supplies) to maintain a clean, safe facility
- Support special projects and tasks as assigned by management
- Maintain a calm, safe environment for pets and customers at all times
Qualifications
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced customer-facing environment (retail, hospitality, veterinary, or similar)
- Prior dog handling experience required; comfortable and confident handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency; ability to learn booking/scheduling software
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask during peak hours
- Willingness to perform physical tasks including heavy cleaning and being on your feet for extended periods
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Genuine love for dogs and pet care
