Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Foreman to lead and oversee HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, refrigeration, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems. As a key leader on-site, you will coordinate teams, ensure safety compliance, and deliver quality workmanship that meets project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of HVAC technicians and service personnel to ensure timely completion of projects
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to facilitate accurate installation and repairs
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical systems, electrical components, refrigeration units, and building automation systems
- Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other mechanical equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations including EPA standards for refrigerants and proper handling procedures
- Conduct quality inspections to verify work meets specifications and industry standards
- Manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment necessary for field operations
- Provide training and mentorship to team members on technical procedures such as welding, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and equipment repair
- Collaborate with project managers to develop work schedules and ensure efficient resource allocation
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports and schematics updates
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and maintenance
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R systems with a strong mechanical background
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design documents
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and building automation systems
- Familiarity with HVAC codes, safety standards (including EPA certification), and environmental regulations
- Mechanical knowledge related to system repair, boiler operation, equipment troubleshooting, welding, and general property maintenance
- Experience with field service operations involving appliance repair or property upkeep
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for equipment repair and installation in diverse environments
