Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading multidiscipline project teams through the full project lifecycle from proposal and initiation through design, execution, commissioning, and close out. This role combines technical expertise, financial stewardship, client communication, and team leadership to deliver high quality water, wastewater, and heavy industrial projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate brings strong Wastewater and Dewatering knowledge, proven project delivery experience, and the ability to mentor staff while driving operational excellence and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Direct and coordinate single or multidiscipline teams throughout all project phases.
- Lead transition from estimating/proposal to project execution.
- Develop project goals aligned with client deliverables and organizational initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the critical path and maintain effective project controls.
- Oversee quality, testing, start‑up, and commissioning activities.
- Enforce timely change management practices.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
- Accurately forecast and report project performance (safety, schedule, cost, quality).
- Implement and uphold QA/QC procedures if needed.
Technical Oversight
- Manage medium to large water/wastewater treatment projects.
- Prepare or oversee technical memoranda, planning, design calculations, and specifications.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to project staff.
- Coordinate with discipline leads and internal team members.
Financial & Contract Management
- Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
- Identify and implement cost savings measures without compromising project quality
- Adjust staffing and work effort to maintain alignment with budget and scope.
- Oversee procurement of subcontractors, major equipment, and materials.
- Negotiate and execute contracts in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
- Participate in periodic project reviews with Accounting, Operations, and Business Leadership.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
- Participate in marketing, proposal development, and business development activities.
- Manage and foster relationships with owners, regulators, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Culture/Safety
- Attract, build, and mentor high‑performing project teams.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safety‑first work environment.
- Serve as a mentor to less‑experienced team members.
- Committed to maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and others.
- Ensure safety protocols and procedures are being enforced.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- 6–10+ years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- PE license a plus.
- Experience executing water, wastewater, or heavy industrial projects a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- NetSuite a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and business development.
This position involves traveling to customer sites as required.
