To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to: Actively monitor via CCTV/audio equipment all casino and hotel property, employees and patrons for suspicious activities such as theft and cheating * Operates a bank of screens, monitors slot and security radio traffic, answers multiple phone lines, submits written reports of incidents and contacts emergency services when required. * Reviews video and documents specific slot and table game jackpots, complaints, procedure errors, risk management issues, player and employee observations, theft and variances Maintains strict confidentiality of surveillance operations *Utilizes computer and associated software including attaching files to email *Write and prepare daily reports, logs, pit pages, and completes other documents as requires * Secures evidence by dubbing and saving video files *Testifies in court as a representative for the company as necessary *Understands, follows and implements all company and departmental policies and procedures * Assures adherence to all gaming rules and regulations
AGE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must obtain Nevada Gaming Registration
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and understand documents in written English form. Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints and emergencies. Fluency in English required. The ability to speak Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of gaming preferred but will train and/or surveillance experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong observation skills; ability to complete tasks while maintaining attentive monitoring at all times • Must possess the proven ability to quickly perceive, identify, monitor and assess suspicious activities, behavior and issues • Working knowledge of all Table Games, Slots, Race & Sportsbook, Cage and Soft and Hard Count procedures • Working knowledge of advantage play systems and cheating methods and basic strategy. • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products as Word and Excel. • Detailed knowledge of the operation of surveillance cameras, CCTV equipment, and digital recording devices
Reports directly to the Surveillance Supervisor and Surveillance Manager. Surveillance Operator runs all surveillance computer equipment, monitors all areas of the property and closely observes a target game, staff member, or customer. They ensure compliance with applicable gaming regulations. The Surveillance Operator reports improper activity or disturbances to supervisor or security team for further investigation. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
