The CNA Driver/Transportation Aide is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other off-site visits, while also providing direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This role ensures resident safety, comfort, and dignity during transport and throughout daily care activities.
Provide safe and reliable transportation for residents to appointments, hospitals, and other approved destinations
Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles, including wheelchair and stretcher transport when required
Secure residents and mobility equipment in transport vehicles according to safety protocols
Monitor residents during transport and report any changes in condition to nursing staff immediately
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic inspections, and report maintenance issues
Complete transportation logs and documentation accurately
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Support mobility and transfers using proper techniques and equipment
Answer call lights and respond promptly to resident needs
Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies at all times
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Florida.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
Previous medical transport or patient transport experience preferred
Strong focus on safety and resident care
Compassionate, patient-centered approach
Ability to assist residents with mobility needs
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong time management and organization
Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents (50+ lbs with assistance)
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and driving
Ability to push wheelchairs and transport equipment
