The Facilities Locator is responsible for precise facility locating and identification for plant infrastructure prior to excavation or construction activities following 811 locating standards and best practices to prevent damage. Responsible for inspection of plant facilities to comply with Oregon Division 24 safety regulations for multiple CBS partner companies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Utilizes facility locating equipment and technology to detect and mark underground utilities, which include fiber, coaxial and copper facilities.
· Assist in accurate and up-to-date facility records and utility locations, inspection documentation, site conditions, and any discrepancies discovered during the locating process.
· Conducts on-site evaluations to assess the area for potential hazards and to gather necessary information for accurate locating.
· Learns telephone cable color codes used.
· Works with partner/contractor to resolve locate issues. Response to underground locate services dig ups and fills out the proper paperwork for reporting of dig up to include billing of time and material.
· Maintains assigned work vehicle and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Completes monthly safety vehicle and equipment inspections.
· Partner with a variety of telecommunication companies to deliver and implement procedures with consistent applications that are shared throughout the partner companies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· The ideal candidate will have one-year prior experience in construction; Prior facility locating is a plus but not required.
· High School Diploma or equivalent relevant field experience is required.
· Ability to operate power tools & equipment, lift 75 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
· Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
· You must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and have the ability to be insured under the company policy.
· Rotation between multiple sites multiples times a week is required; occasional overtime hours are required.
· Telecommunications industry knowledge/experience preferred but not required.
