WHO WE ARE
The Exposure Project is a Charlotte-based nonprofit entering its seventh year of connecting middle and high school youth to real-world career experiences. We exist to equip young people with the skills, relationships, and direction they need to build a real path toward a good life.
We are a small team that moves fast and takes our work seriously, and we are looking for someone who brings the same level of seriousness to the work of preparing young people for real careers.
THE ROLE
As our Program Coordinator, you will help lead the operational backbone of our career readiness work across the organization. You will coordinate program delivery across our current flagship program, Exposed Plus, our annual Youth Summit, and the continued buildout of our Exposed program. A core part of this role is identifying, securing, and managing relationships with the industry experts and partners who bring real career exposure to our students. You will work closely alongside our Executive Director to ensure our programs run with consistency and professionalism across the year.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Recruit, interview, and onboard each program cohort, and build the relationships that keep students engaged and accountable
- Identify, secure, and manage relationships with industry experts and contractors who deliver real career exposure to our students
- Coordinate the operational rhythm of Exposed Plus, including team sessions, business reviews, and real-world visits
- Lead students through public-facing program events where their work is put into practice
- Support the planning and execution of our annual Youth Summit, which brings career exploration to well over 100 young people
- Help build out our Exposed program as we continue to grow our career readiness model
- Manage day-to-day program logistics, family communication, and partner coordination with professionalism and consistency
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in youth development, education, or a related field
- Experience working with middle and high schoolers, with the ability to earn their trust and hold them to a high standard
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and partner relationships at once
- Comfortable being the face of a program with parents, partners, and the public
- Sound judgment and the ability to take initiative within a professional, structured environment
- Available for a consistent weekly schedule, September through June, including some evening and weekend events
- A genuine commitment to youth development and career readiness
