Cascade Engineering has an opening on 3rd shift as Production Team Leader. Our production leaders, known as C-Admins, support the Front-Line Leader and Plant operations by meeting production requirements, developing Levels A and B operators and facilitating daily activities to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective work environment. They maintain production flow, uphold quality standards, and ensure compliance with Flow Cell Certification.
Location: North Plant (5145 36th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512)
Shift: 3rd shift working from 11pm -7:10am (Sunday - Thursday with over time as required per business needs)
Target Pay: $22.00 / hour (plus shift premium of $1.00 and quarterly bonus incentive)
What You'll Be Doing

Support the production team by ensuring daily schedules are met, verifying defects, and accurately reporting them in the operations systems. Act as the first responder for scrap, downtime, or quality issues, escalating to Maintenance, Technical or Quality when needed

Perform first piece approvals, color checks, poke-yoke checks, and final inspections. Manage cell changeovers, setups, and small equipment adjustments using technical documents (Standard Work, Quality Criteria, Gage Instructions, packing specs)

Apply basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude to resolve minor issues and support production flow Manage cell

Partner with Lean department to establish and maintain Flow Cell Certifications; apply lean principles to improve efficiency and keep documentation current

Coach, mentor and oversee operators, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards

Maintain a safe and organized work environment; properly use and train others on PPE, safe lifting, conveyors, torches, and other equipment

Use operational and quality systems for data entry and analysis including MQ1 (quality), QAD/MODS (inventory control), and other production reporting

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Operate a forklift as needed to support production and material movement

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

2+ years’ manufacturing/machine operator experience, preferably in plastics
-
1+ year leadership or team support experience, (formal or informal)
-
Proven ability to hold others accountable to policies, procedures, and performance standards
-
Strong communications skills with the ability to lead small groups
-
Ability to stand 8-12 hours per shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks

Ability to read and follow written work instructions

Valid Driver’s license or be able to use all 4 limbs such as arms, legs (upper and lower limbs), torso/trunk at the shoulder. Have coordination of eyes, hands and feet. Not have any known/documented convulsive disorders and corrected vision (obtain doctor’s note verifying proof of the corrected vision)
Minimum of 1 year experience with sit-down Forklift / Hilo's
