Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers in person, over the phone, and via email
- Accurately complete rental agreements and process payments
- Prepare, assign, and stage vehicles based on daily reservations and delivery schedules
- Deliver rental vehicles to hotels and designated locations on time and with care
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, hotel staff, and business partners
- Address customer questions and concerns with clear, helpful communication
- Promote optional services like damage waivers, fuel plans, vehicle upgrades, and child seats
- Offer directions and local tips in a courteous and knowledgeable manner
- Process vehicle returns efficiently, including:
- Thanking the customer
- Checking for fuel level, damage, and personal items
- Reviewing final charges and providing receipts
- Collecting feedback and noting any concerns
- Share customer feedback with management to improve service
- Ensure all vehicles have current, matching registration
- Conduct daily safety checks for damage, warning lights, or tire issues
- Remove any vehicles that don’t meet safety or quality standards
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Restock and manage detailing and cleaning supplies
- Help car washers clean and sanitize all vehicles to company standards (interior and exterior)
- Assist with keeping the branch clean, including office areas, restrooms, and the lot
- Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free work environment; report unsafe conditions immediately
Rental Agent Requirements
- 3 years of customer service experience required
- 2 years of sales experience required
- 1 year experience in valet driving or vehicle handling preferred
- 2 years car washing or detailing experience required
- 10 years driving experience required
- Basic math skills for handling payments, calculating charges, and balancing transactions
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable standing, walking, or driving for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to follow company policies, safety guidelines, and vehicle handling procedures
- Clean and professional appearance in accordance with uniform standards
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the following criteria: No more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents within the past three years
- No drug- or alcohol-related driving offenses within the past five years
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future
- employment sponsorship
- High school diploma or GED required
Car Washer/Detailer Requirements
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and dry vehicles inside and out before and after each rental
- Vacuum and prepare interiors; wipe down surfaces; remove debris; ensure a fresh, guest‑ready presentation
- Wash and dry exteriors, including cars, SUVs, vans, and trucks
- Stage vehicles daily according to the reservation schedule
- Collaborate with rental agents to prepare vehicles for pick‑up and process returns efficiently
- Check fuel levels, warning lights, tire condition, and overall drivability
- Inspect windshields, body panels, and bumpers for damage
- Verify registration is present, current, and matches the license plate
- Remove and secure any guest items in Lost & Found
- Pull vehicles from the prep line if safety concerns or damage are identified and report immediately
- Document damage clearly and accurately following company procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and report any unsafe conditions
- Support overall site appearance, including:
- Floors, trash areas, and bathrooms
- Sweeping the lot and maintaining exterior cleanliness
- Assisting with general upkeep of branch locations
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and cleaning products
- Provide basic guidance or directions when asked, reflecting Akamai’s warm, solutions‑focused service

- Proficient with POS systems, rental software, and standard office tools (e.g., data entry, email, Excel, Google Sheets)
- Capable of handling transactions (cash/credit) and resolving customer issues professionally
- Able to hear, speak, and communicate clearly to perform job duties effectively
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
