We are looking for a skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanic/Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and restore vehicles damaged in collisions, ensuring all mechanical systems are returned to safe, manufacturer-approved operating condition. Working alongside body technicians, painters, and estimators, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs while maintaining productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Inspect collision-damaged vehicles to identify mechanical, structural, and safety-related issues.
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall mechanical components including engines, radiators, air conditioning systems, suspension parts, and other related components.
- Repair or replace damaged steering, suspension, braking, and drivetrain components.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, sensors, and electronic control modules (ECMs).
- Inspect, repair, and replace Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), including airbags and related components.
- Perform suspension adjustments to manufacturer specifications.
- Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and collision avoidance systems.
- Perform computerized diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tools.
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation, safety, and quality.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications, insurance requirements, and industry safety standards.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and labor completed.
- Collaborate with body technicians, painters, estimators, and service advisors throughout the repair process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures.
- Safely operate vehicle lifts, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized repair tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, Collision Mechanic, or Automotive Technician.
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain systems.
- Proficiency using computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Ability to interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service information.
- Experience performing collision-related mechanical repairs is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Michigan State Mechanical Certification is required.
- ASE certifications (A-Series or Collision Repair certifications) are preferred.
