Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Job description:
Plant Manager – Build the Future of Industrial Finishing
Van Buren, AR
Full-Time | Exempt | Onsite
Build More Than a Plant. Build the Future of Industrial Coatings.
At ColorCoat, we don't manufacture products—we transform them.
For over 20 years, ColorCoat has been one of North America's premier specialty coating companies, delivering high-performance paint finishes for the window, door, and building products industries. Our customers trust us because of our craftsmanship, quality, and ability to solve complex finishing challenges.
Now we're looking for a leader who wants to help shape what's next.
We're seeking a hands-on Plant Manager who is energized by learning, improving processes, developing people, and helping expand our coating capabilities into new substrates, new technologies, and new markets.
If you enjoy solving operational challenges, leading teams, and building something better every day, we'd like to talk with you.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This isn't a role where you'll spend your day behind a desk.
You'll lead from the production floor.
You'll coach people.
You'll solve problems.
You'll improve processes.
You'll work alongside experienced painters, production leaders, quality, sales, and customers to help grow one of the most respected specialty coating operations in the industry.
Paint experience is valuable—but curiosity, leadership, and operational excellence are what will make you successful here.
What You'll Do
As Plant Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the Milton facility, including:
- Leading daily production, quality, safety, shipping, and customer performance
- Building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Developing supervisors, leads, and production employees into future leaders
- Driving production efficiency while reducing waste, scrap, and rework
- Monitoring KPIs including labor utilization, throughput, quality, safety, and on-time delivery
- Identifying bottlenecks and implementing practical solutions
- Partnering with Sales, Operations, Quality, HR, Finance, and Supply Chain to exceed customer expectations
- Supporting the development of new coating applications and production processes as our business continues to grow
Who Will Thrive Here
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves being on the production floor
- Naturally coaches and develops people
- Enjoys learning new manufacturing processes
- Thinks like a problem solver rather than a firefighter
- Takes ownership and leads with accountability
- Makes decisions with safety and quality at the center
- Enjoys improving systems, not just maintaining them
- Wants to help build the next chapter of our company
Your First Month
During onboarding, you'll travel to one or more ColorCoat facilities to gain hands-on experience with our operations.
You'll learn:
- Specialty coating and paint application processes
- Customer quality expectations
- Production workflow
- Labor planning and scheduling
- Inventory and purchasing
- Safety and OSHA compliance
- Leadership expectations
- Continuous improvement practices
All travel expenses are paid by ColorCoat.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Five or more years of manufacturing or production leadership experience
- Three or more years leading hourly production teams
- Experience managing production, quality, safety, labor, and operational performance
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Ideal Backgrounds
Successful candidates may come from industries such as:
- Industrial coatings
- Paint or powder coating
- Building products
- Composite manufacturing
- Automotive finishing
- Aerospace manufacturing
- Wood products
- Metal fabrication
- Chemical processing
- Food manufacturing
- High-mix / low-volume manufacturing
If you've successfully led manufacturing teams and enjoy learning new technologies, we encourage you to apply—even if you haven't worked directly in industrial paint operations.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll have:
- Built a highly engaged production team
- Improved operational efficiency
- Strengthened safety and quality performance
- Developed future leaders within the plant
- Enhanced customer satisfaction
- Identified opportunities to expand ColorCoat's coating capabilities into new products and substrates
Why ColorCoat?
At ColorCoat, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact.
You'll work alongside leaders who value initiative, accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Your ideas won't get buried in layers of bureaucracy—they'll help shape the future of our operations.
If you're looking for a leadership role where you can build, improve, innovate, and grow, we'd love to meet you.
