American Heritage School is a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are seeking an Assistant Athletic Director who is passionate about both athletics and helping students grow physically, spiritually, socially, and intellectually.
Hourly position, up to 18 hours per week.
Nature of the Role
This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. The assistant athletic director is expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: training coaches on culture and policies; ordering uniforms; scheduling games and practices; student discipline; on-site game supervision; league communications; school communications; assisting parents and students with questions, etc.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a background in athletics. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Experience in athletics administration preferred

An enduring love of youth and a genuine passion for teaching and learning

The ability to use sports as a tool to build better disciples of Jesus Christ and Christian character.

A commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Faith and Mission Responsibilities
In addition to athletics administration responsibilities, the assistant AD at AHS is expected to:

Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into athletics administration where appropriate

Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students

Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues

Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission
Professional Expectations
Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off campus. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose.
