Job Summary:
Ann Arbor Urgent Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic urgent care team. In this fast-paced clinical environment, the Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting providers with patient care, performing clinical and administrative duties, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:

Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.

Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and other treatments.

Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.

Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, COVID, urinalysis).

Collect and process specimens for lab testing.

Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic.
Administrative Duties:

Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.

Assist with patient follow-up, test result calls, and documentation.

Support front desk staff with clerical tasks as needed.

Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper stocking of exam rooms.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

MA Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.

1+ year of experience in urgent care, emergency room, or outpatient setting preferred.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.

Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language) a plus.

Ability to work on weekends, holidays, or extended hours if required.
