Position Title: Commercial Service Plumber / Backflow Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Varying locations On-Site in the Puget Sound Region
Schedule: Times may vary per job but consistent schedule is: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, half hour lunch Monday – Friday, opportunities for on call emergencies
Reports To: Ownership / Office Leadership
Department: Commercial Plumbing
Compensation: Local Union 26 based on wage sheet qualifications

This role focuses on commercial service, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and backflow testing throughout the Puget Sound region. POSITION SUMMARY
This position focuses on commercial service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing systems in schools, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, tribal facilities, and industrial environments. Serving a local medium sized company where interactions between all departments is required. The ideal candidate is a licensed Journeyman Plumber who can confidently diagnose problems, communicate solutions to customers, is a reliable and positive teammate, performs repairs with minimal supervision, and meets the requirements listed.
Required Qualifications
- Washington State Journeyman Plumber License
- Current Backflow Assembly Tester Certification
- Minimum 5 years of commercial service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Effective communication with supervisors, colleagues and customers
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and professionally with customers
Must have Experience with:
- Commercial plumbing systems
- Domestic water systems
- Pumps and controls
- Backflow prevention assemblies
- Drain cleaning and hydro jetting
- Leak detection and repair
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial mechanical rooms
- Experience with water heaters and boilers
- Knowledge of hydronic systems
- Experience working in schools, healthcare facilities, and occupied commercial buildings
- Ability to notate clearly; service documentation, recommendations for customers
- Experience mentoring apprentices

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Diognostics & Repairs – 45%
- Diagnose and repair commercial plumbing systems
- Perform backflow testing, repairs, and certifications
- Troubleshoot complex plumbing and mechanical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Respond to emergency service calls
- Provide customers with repair recommendations and options
- Source parts and materials efficiently for each job
Project Install & Support - 35%
- Work with Project Management and Commercial Install on Certain Installs
- Demonstrate reliability, consistency, and attention to detail
- Support a respectful, well-run company environment
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
Record Notation & Overall Communication – 20%
- Complete service reports and documentation
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, staff, vendors, and ownership
- Learn current field service workflow systems and software
- Positive representation of the plumbing department for all company interactions
Pay: $65.89 - $90.00 per hour
