Overview
Martini Cleaners & Laundry is seeking an experienced Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will be customer focused, with strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of garments, and other sewing projects.
Duties
- Meet with customers to discuss the customer’s objectives / requirements.
- Suggest solutions to achieve the customer’s objectives, particularly solutions that are cost effective
- Perform fittings, alterations & repairs
- Most common requests are pant hems, dress / skirt hems and repairs e.g. seams, holes, zippers. We also receive consistent requests for suit coat sleeve length adjustment, pant waist adjustment, and dress taking in and strap adjustments.
- However, we receive a wide variety of sewing related requests, which we strive to complete
- Experience with a wide variety of sewing equipment as well as hand methods
- Fill in for counter employees for breaks, or illness.
- Wedding dress alteration experience is not required, but would be a plus
Compensation
- Depends on experience. Anticipated to be mid $20s per hour
