Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen actively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately record their service needs.
- Prepare detailed repair orders using auto estimating software, ensuring transparency and clarity for both customers and technicians.
- Communicate effectively with service technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, mechanical issues, and recommended repairs such as transmissions, brake repair, suspension, or tire services.
- Upsell additional maintenance services like oil changes, alignments, shocks & struts, or diesel engine repairs to maximize customer value while maintaining integrity.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during payment processing and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Follow up with customers on vehicle status updates and explain repair procedures clearly to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Maintain organized service records, ensure timely completion of work orders, and support the overall efficiency of the service department.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or auto service management background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of automotive systems including air brakes, alignments, suspensions, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repairs, and diesel engine repairs.
- Experience with auto estimating tools and automotive repair processes such as oil changes or light repair is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with previous service technician experience or mechanic background is a plus.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
