Previous mechanic or equipment maintenance experience preferred.
The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing forklifts and a variety of heavy industrial equipment. This position will work with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems while performing both preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
The ideal candidate is a mechanically minded individual who can diagnose problems, make quality repairs, and work safely with a variety of industrial equipment. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and transferable experience will be considered, even if their previous experience is not specifically with forklifts.

Inspect forklifts, equipment, and operating systems to identify mechanical issues and necessary repairs.

Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.

Perform preventive maintenance according to established standards and manufacturer requirements.

Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on forklifts and other industrial equipment.

Service and repair scissor lifts, basket trucks, Bobcats, and other heavy equipment.

Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and rigging equipment on a daily basis.

Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.

Complete both simple and complex mechanical repairs.

Provide technical assistance and support to less-experienced technicians when needed.

Complete work orders and accurately document repairs and maintenance performed.

Maintain accurate personal tool lists and ensure tools are properly maintained and available for use.

Follow company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements and procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
-
Maintain positive customer and employee relationships.
-
Adjust work schedule as needed to meet customer and business demands.

Previous forklift, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, automotive, diesel, or mechanical maintenance experience is preferred.

Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems is a strong plus.

Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.

Experience working with motors, pumps, conveyors, and other industrial equipment is helpful.

Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, service information, and work orders.

Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to safely lift, handle, and work around heavy equipment.

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Willingness to learn and work on a variety of equipment.
