We are a small, family-owned company looking for an experienced and highly organized Trucking Dispatcher to coordinate freight movements, communicate with drivers, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong problem-solving skills, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers for local and long-haul deliveries
- Monitor driver progress and provide route updates as needed
- Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments
- Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, and warehouse personnel
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or service issues
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, logs, and reports
- Assist with load planning and maximizing equipment utilization
- Support drivers with paperwork, permits, and operational needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics dispatching preferred
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements is an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
