Bookkeeper
A well-established Northeast Ohio law firm is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its administrative team. This is a confidential search being conducted on the firm's behalf. Firm details will be shared with candidates selected for interview.
About the Role
The Bookkeeper will own the firm's day-to-day accounting functions and work directly with firm leadership and the operations team. This is a hands-on seat in a collaborative, fast-moving practice where accuracy and discretion matter.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform daily and monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Process client cost disbursements and vendor payments
- Maintain and reconcile trust/IOLTA accounts in compliance with Ohio ethics requirements
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports for firm leadership
- Maintain general ledger entries and support month-end and year-end close
- Coordinate with the firm's outside CPA on tax preparation and audit requests
- Support settlement disbursement processing and case cost tracking
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or staff accounting experience; law firm or professional services setting preferred
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks (or comparable accounting software)
- Trust/IOLTA account experience strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Associate's degree in accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a full benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan participation.
