AVIR at Post is seeking a compassionate and motivated Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA seeking flexible scheduling while providing quality, patient-centered care in a supportive rehabilitation environment.
Position Responsibilities
Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and functional independence.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional mobility, transfers, gait training, and other prescribed interventions.
Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Document treatments and patient progress accurately and timely.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and home programs.
Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Follow facility policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Texas.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain as required.
Previous experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
