American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post Surgical Unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Position is located in a hospital Post Surgical Unit

Provides nursing care to a variety of post-surgical patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

13-week contract

Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
-
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required (AHA-issued certifications only)

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
-
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Basic computer skills required

Full date of birth required for consideration

Responsibilities include managing an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, and initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products

Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures

Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period following a maximum of 26 weeks (one extension) of prior placement

Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) are strict and non-negotiable — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
