Minimum 2 years experience. Applicant must be experienced in routing of data lines Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optics. Heavily focused on the clean organization and infastructure of routing data lines. Specialized in mounting hardware and wiring surveillance cameras, intercoms, and multi-room audio systems. Focuses on network performance and testing data drops.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, access control, fire alarms, sensors, and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems).
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system installation and configuration.
- Conduct cabling using hand tools and power tools to establish secure electrical connections in construction or retrofit projects.
- Perform system design assessments to recommend optimal security solutions tailored to client needs.
- Utilize remote access software to diagnose issues remotely and provide timely support for security system troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure seamless integration of security and AV systems within building frameworks.
- Conduct field service visits for system testing, calibration, repairs, and upgrades while maintaining detailed service logs.
- Assist in sales activities by providing technical expertise on alarm systems, surveillance options, and security upgrades.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarms, or security systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to cabling, power tools usage, and NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts to configure networked security devices and remote access solutions.
- Hands-on experience with schematics interpretation, system design planning, and troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
- Knowledge of telecommunication standards and locksmithing principles is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in the field with excellent problem-solving skills while maintaining safety standards.
- Construction experience or background working on building sites is advantageous.
