PBSGC is seeking an experienced Field Engineer that is willing to work in the Louisiana area and surrounding states as assigned.
Responsibilities

Management of construction projects to include engineering and layout, leadership of personnel, and management of assets including vessels, barges and equipment

Coordinating mobilization of crew, equipment and materials
- Responsible for assigned assets including vessels, barges, equipment and materials

Thorough knowledge of the project plans and specifications

Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately
-
Ensures all PBSGC employees and contractors are adhering to PBSGC's safety culture
-
Daily reports and additional required written communication
-
Conduct performance evaluations of crew personnel
-
Provide proactive and intentional leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site
- Coach, mentor and train team members
- Support and encourage team member's learning and development
Qualifications
-
Experience with working in a marine environment on the inland waterway and especially the Mississippi River is not required but beneficial

Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is preferred but experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Undergraduates of all experience levels and with a varied background of construction training will be considered

Civil construction management experience in addition to the above education and/or experience of at least five years is required. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proficient in setting, transferring and understanding grades.

Commitment to safe leadership of personnel and safe work practice is a must

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents including contracts and specifications

Experience in scheduling, supervision, quality control, and management of civil construction projects

Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods as well as construction management experience

Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills
-
High school diploma and valid driver's license
