Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN (as needed) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. This role offers flexible scheduling to support patient care for in home, assisted living communities. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will provide essential support to patients by assisting with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support medication reminders under supervision, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Use proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer patients with mobility challenges
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control procedures during patient care activities
- Communicate effectively with patients, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery and address individual needs
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical documentation systems like EMR/EHR while maintaining confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; active state license preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, and those requiring memory or hospice care
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (CPR) certification preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home health settings highly desirable
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for accurate documentation
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely using proper techniques; physical stamina for manual handling tasks required
- Strong caregiver communication skills with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
