Position Description:
The Host is the first and last impression for our guests, setting the tone for an upscale dining experience through warm, polished, and attentive service. This role manages reservations, seating flow, and the overall ambiance of the dining room.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and farewell guests warmly, creating a memorable experience
- Manage reservations, including special requests
- Coordinate seating with servers and management to optimize flow
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and communicate wait times courteously
- Answer phones professionally and handle guest inquiries
- Escort guests to tables, present menus, and relay relevant details (specials, allergies, celebrations)
- Monitor dining room ambiance — lighting, music, cleanliness — and flag issues to management
- Handle guest concerns gracefully, escalating when needed
- Track VIPs, regulars, and special occasions
- Keep the host stand organized and stocked
Qualifications
- Prior host experience in fine dining or upscale settings strongly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, polished appearance and demeanor
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Familiarity with reservation/POS systems
- Calm, gracious under pressure
**Open availability required** — must be able to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality training a plus
