American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and independent sterile vaginal exam proficiency.

Acute care hospital setting with 320 staffed beds
-
Labor & Delivery unit with floating required to Mother Baby
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
-
Weekend availability required, potentially exceeding every other weekend to meet unit needs

No on-call responsibilities

Epic EMR experience required
-
Scrubs are provided for L&D
-
Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (hard stop — must have a passing score)

Minimum of 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision (hard stop requirement)

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local rate

Scheduling preferences may be considered at manager's discretion, but requests related to additional outside employment will not be accommodated

Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
