We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team of professionals and contribute to the mental wellness of our diverse patient population.
Job Summary
Position Overview: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide direct patient care by conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in psychiatric care and have a passion for delivering patient-centered mental health services. This position is In-Person or Hybrid; in-person and telehealth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services, including individual and group therapy as appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Stay current with the latest psychiatric research and best practices.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field of psychiatric nursing.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and therapeutic techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Availability to work Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays In-Person or Hybrid.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Experience working in outpatient and/or inpatient psychiatric settings.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluation
- Early Childhood Psychiatry Children 5 and under
- Eating Disorder Evaluation and Management
- Experience with structured diagnostic tools and psychiatric rating scales
- Comfort managing complex psychiatric cases with medical comorbidities
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong familiarity with higher-acuity outpatient psychiatry
