Smart Beginnings Academy is a physician-founded, DCFS-licensed early childhood education center serving families across the Chicagoland area. Our philosophy is simple: "If a child can't learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn."
The Role
We are looking for a warm, dependable Lead Infant Teacher to run our infant classroom in Oswego. You will create a safe, nurturing environment where our youngest learners thrive, and serve as the primary point of contact for infant-room families.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily care and developmentally appropriate activities for infants (6 weeks–15 months)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom in compliance with Illinois DCFS standards
- Track and communicate daily feedings, naps, and milestones to parents via ProCare
- Build trusting relationships with families through daily communication
- Mentor and direct assistant teachers in the classroom
- Complete required documentation, including attendance and incident reports
Qualifications
- Meets Illinois DCFS Early Childhood Teacher qualifications (60 semester hours of college credit with 6 in early childhood education, or equivalent per 89 Ill. Adm. Code 407)
- 1+ year of experience in an infant or toddler classroom preferred
- Current or willing to obtain: CPR/First Aid certification, DCFS background check, and required health documentation
- Reliable, nurturing, and a strong communicator

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
