We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate part-time Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist to support our medication provider and front-office operations. This role combines clinical support, medication coordination, and reception responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both patient care and administrative organization in a calm, collaborative setting.
The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and patient-centered, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Medication & Clinical Support
- Assist the medication provider during appointments
- Prepare patients for visits, including taking vital signs
- Coordinate prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies
- Assist with prior authorizations and insurance medication requirements
- Occasionally administer injections as directed
Reception & Administrative Support
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and warmth
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Manage refill requests and route clinical messages appropriately
- Handle patient inquiries and provide general office support
- Fax, scan, and upload documentation into the EMR system
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records
Office & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical and reception environment
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Support smooth daily office operations
Qualifications
- Medical experience, or relevant experience preferred
- Experience in a mental health or medical office preferred
- Comfortable answering phones and interacting with patients
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
