Job Overview
Thompson Trucking is seeking a dependable, experienced, and safety-minded CDL Class A driver to join our growing hotshot operation. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work, values customer service, and is committed to operating safely and efficiently.
This position involves hauling freight throughout the Western United States using a one-ton dually truck and 40-foot gooseneck trailer. Drivers should be comfortable with regional and over-the-road travel, including multi-day trips.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a one-ton dually truck with a 40-foot gooseneck trailer.
- Transport freight safely and efficiently while complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Properly secure cargo using chains, binders, straps, and other securement equipment.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and required paperwork.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, brokers, and customers.
- Deliver freight on time while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Previous hotshot, flatbed, or gooseneck trailer experience preferred.
- Clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Knowledge of cargo securement and DOT regulations.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
