Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli items, salads, sandwiches, and hot foods following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials and regular offerings
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food products with care to ensure proper food safety management and hygiene practices
- Support meal preparation for catering events or large orders while adhering to recipe specifications
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely service
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or deli work within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling procedures, and sanitation practices
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for meats, cheeses, and produce
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in food quality
- Experience with menu planning and meal prep for diverse dietary needs or catering events is a plus
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and team members
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
