Upper Level Math Tutor (Part-Time)
Position Summary
Score At The Top Wellington is hiring a part-time Upper Level Math Tutor. Our tutors are completely student-focused, because our learning environment is so personalized. Our goal is to foster in students their critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and at the same time be continually aware of each student’s emotional needs. Building confidence in students skills is of the upmost importance to us.
Principal Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- One-on-one tutoring instruction in Math Subjects for ALL levels of High School & College students (from Pre-Algebra to AP Calc BC to College Calculus).
- Ability to support students academic success through focusing on specific target areas as it pertains to an upcoming test or homework assignment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to personalized instruction.
- Entering qualitative and quantitative data into our on-line record system on a by session basis.
- Establishing and maintaining communication with parents and Score peers.
- Adding energy, ideas, and elbow grease to our campus community.
- Fostering confidence in students struggling with their academics.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration.
- Availability from 4:30 pm-8pm at least 4 days a week (Monday to Friday) with weekends as needed. - predicted 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Teaching credentials/certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in tutoring various levels of mathematics is mandatory: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Statistics, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, College Algebra, and College Calculus.
- Familiarity with online platforms such as FLVS, Zoom, and Skype.
- An outgoing nature, organizational skills, competence on the computer, and enthusiasm for working in a remarkably energetic and fulfilling school setting.
- Pass a background check and mastery of concepts check
- Ability to begin tutoring immediately in the subject area, and the grade levels required.
