Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial or residential spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle janitorial tasks including trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and sanitation of restrooms and common areas
- Operate floor care machinery safely and efficiently to buff, polish, or restore flooring surfaces
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or minor repairs around the facility
- Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemical agents and cleaning equipment to prevent accidents or injuries
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness logs and report any facility issues requiring further maintenance or repair
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures
- Skilled in operating cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools
- Strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper ergonomic practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols diligently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
