Gelatys is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mixing Specialist to join our frozen dessert manufacturing team in Fort Myers.
The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and mixing ingredients in an ice cream, dairy, bakery, beverage, or food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for accurately following recipes, weighing ingredients, operating mixing equipment, and preparing gelato and frozen dessert bases for production.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mix gelato, ice cream, and frozen dessert recipes.
- Weigh and measure ingredients accurately according to production formulas.
- Operate pasteurizers, mixers, tanks, pumps, and related food-processing equipment.
- Follow recipes, batch sheets, and production schedules.
- Monitor mixing times, temperatures, texture, and product consistency.
- Properly identify and document each production batch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and company procedures.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment between batches.
- Communicate any ingredient, equipment, or quality issues to the production supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in ice cream, gelato, dairy, beverage, bakery, sauce, or food production is strongly preferred.
- Experience weighing ingredients and following recipes or batch formulas.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated food-production environment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
- English or Spanish speakers are welcome.
- Availability to work flexible schedules and occasional overtime.
Compensation:
- Starting pay: $16.00 per hour
