Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team of Public Housing apartments at our Wewahitchka and Carrabelle FL locations . As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires maintenance and technical skills.
Duties include:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and assisting tenants with paperwork
-Completing and submitting weekly and monthly paperwork in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC components, and outdoor power equipment parts as needed
- Read and interpret tenant leases, inspection results, operation manuals, and occasional blueprints
- Utilize tablet based maintenance work orders and document maintenance activities
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, painting, cleaning, and light carpentry
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical, and some knowledge of HVAC systems
- Experience with using tablets, smartphones, printers
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot routine household repair issues -Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
- Be self-motivated and able to work alone or cooperate with a team
- Ability to show professionalism and courtesy with upset tenants
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
