We're growing, and we're looking for an Assistant Construction Project Manager who wants to grow with us.
Position Overview
The Assistant Construction Project Manager works alongside our Project Managers to keep restoration and reconstruction projects running smoothly from initial scope through final walkthrough. You'll coordinate schedules, subcontractors, materials, and documentation while communicating with homeowners, adjusters, and field crews. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to advancement into a Project Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers through the full project lifecycle: scoping, estimating, scheduling, execution, and closeout
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and in-house crews across multiple active projects
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and cleanliness; document with photos, daily logs, and progress reports
- Maintain accurate, timely job file documentation to meet insurance carrier requirements (notes, photos, supplements, change orders)
- Communicate proactively with homeowners, property managers, and insurance adjusters on project status and timelines
- Assist with material takeoffs, ordering, deliveries, and inventory tracking
- Help prepare and track budgets, change orders, purchase orders, and invoices
- Support permit applications and inspections as required
- Identify and escalate schedule risks, scope changes, and site issues to the Project Manager
- Uphold company safety standards and assist with pre-job safety reviews
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction, restoration, remediation, or a related trade
- Working knowledge of residential construction practices, trades sequencing, and industry-standard tools
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you'll be the point of contact for stressed homeowners and busy adjusters
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; comfortable learning project management software
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs/ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
- Experience in the restoration industry (water, fire, storm, or mold)
- Familiarity with Xactimate estimating software preferred
- Experience with restoration management platforms (PSA, Encircle, Clean Claims, or similar)
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification
- Understanding of the insurance claims process
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field a plus (equivalent experience welcome)
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday–Friday, with occasional evening/weekend availability during storm events or emergency response
- Mix of office work and daily field visits to active job sites across the Greater Houston area
- In-person role — reliable commute to Montgomery, TX required
