About the role:
As a Strategic Operations Lead with the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB) Mechanical and Breaker Products team, you will drive operational excellence and execute long-term strategic initiatives within the WPB manufacturing organization. You will partner cross-functionally to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and align plant operations with broader business objectives. Additionally, you will play a critical role in deploying strategic inventory initiatives, leading high-impact projects, and ensuring sustainable performance improvements across value streams.
You will report to the Manager, Mechanical and Breaker Products. This is an anchor position that is required to be on site 5 days a week at our New Stanton, PA facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic operational initiatives aligned with business goals and manufacturing priorities.
- Connect with project managers, product managers, and inventory managers to make decisions on make vs buy, inventory levels, and last time purchases.
- Partner with plant leadership to identify performance gaps and implement data-driven improvement plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost; recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, quality, production) to execute major operational projects.
- Support capacity planning, production optimization, and resource allocation strategies.
- Develop and standardize processes to improve operational consistency and scalability.
- Monitor and report progress of strategic initiatives to senior leadership, ensuring accountability and measurable results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations strategy, or continuous improvement roles
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and KPIs
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $100,800.00 to $126,000.00 per year.
