Overview
The Ste. Genevieve County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Paralegal to support prosecutors in the preparation and management of criminal and traffic cases.
The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, law enforcement agencies, court personnel, victims, and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file legal documents, pleadings, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence
- Maintain and organize case files, evidence records, and discovery materials
- Schedule court appearances, meetings, and witness interviews
- Review police reports, citations, driving records, criminal histories, and related documents
- Track case deadlines, court dates, and compliance requirements
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable legal and ethical standards
- Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience in a legal office, prosecutor’s office, court system, or law enforcement environment is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information
