Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
- Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, managing dental instruments and materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment.
- Review medical records for relevant information that impacts dental treatment plans and patient safety.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing excellent patient care and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations related to medical coding, documentation review, and confidentiality standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for managing patient records and scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred to effectively care for young patients in a friendly manner.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Ability to accurately take dental x-rays (dental imaging) while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
- Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient interaction.
- Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management and documentation review processes.
- Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping and billing purposes.
