POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Maintenance Tech for the YMCA of Coastal Carolina intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing high-quality, member-focused experience. Under the direction of the Director of Properties and Grounds and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Facilities Maintenance Tech has direct responsibilities for the overall appearance of the building and grounds for all Association owned facilities and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assess the proper mechanical operation of pools, equipment, and facilities upon arrival.

Assume secondary responsibility to monitor, troubleshoot and repair, as needed, all HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems of Association owned facilities and grounds.

Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.

In the absence of the Director of Properties and Grounds, oversees all contractors that work in the Association facilities.

Ensure proper working order of equipment within facility and always keep standard inventory of necessary repair items in the facilities.

Complete task list established by the Director of Properties and Grounds.

Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OSHA and all other industry guidelines and procedures.

Daily communication with supervisor and Branch Executive Directors regarding status of all custodial and maintenance projects.

Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with YMCA, local and state policies, and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High School diploma and 1-2 years training with a skilled trade in mechanical repairs, construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and/or equivalent training.

Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations

Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.

Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter.

Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize their time.
-
Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid and Oxygen, and all required Redwoods trainings.

Ability to late effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Ability to drive between branch locations within the Association.

Should posses and be able to use a variety of own tools.
-
CDL Driver License preferred.
