JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking OEM Quality Technician for the Quality department.
The OEM Quality Technician performs standardized laboratory testing on company materials to ensure continued compliance with customer specifications, internal requirements, and applicable regulatory/industry standards. This role is primarily responsible for planning and executing customer-required periodic testing programs (e.g., annual, bi-annual, or as agreed/requested by the customer), ensuring tests are completed accurately, on time, and properly documented. The Laboratory Quality Technician also supports the preparation and issuance of Certificates of Quality/Analysis, maintains testing records, and reports, ensures testing equipment remains calibrated and fit for use, and partners with Production, R&D, and customer-facing teams to coordinate samples, methods, and timelines while continuously identifying opportunities to improve laboratory quality and data integrity.
Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
· Ensure that company materials meet OEM/customer quality requirements through laboratory testing, evaluation, and documented evidence per applicable specifications and agreed testing frequency.
· Own and execute customer-required periodic testing programs (e.g., annual, bi-annual, or as requested/agreed), including maintaining the testing calendar, due dates, and on-time completion.
· Review and interpret OEM/customer specifications, test methods, and acceptance criteria, ensuring the correct method revision and test conditions are used.
· Coordinate and manage sample preparation, identification, traceability (lot/batch/sample ID), retention samples, and chain-of-custody as required by internal standards and customer requirements.
· Enter, prepare, maintain, and update all necessary test data, records, reports, and/or systems accurately and in a timely manner.
· Support the preparation, verification, and issuance of Certificates of Quality/Analysis/Conformance (CoQ/CoA/CoC) and related customer documentation, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
· Coordinate testing activities to support production and customer commitments without disrupting operations, including scheduling testing internally or with external laboratories as needed.
· Communicate and escalate out-of-spec (OOS) or abnormal results promptly to Quality/Engineering leadership; support re-testing and documentation per procedure.
· Maintain all calibrated testing equipment, tools, and laboratory supplies to ensure compliance, readiness, and timely execution of inspections/testing.
· Prepare and maintain controlled quality documentation and retain records in hard/electronic copy consistent with document control requirements.
· Provide support in the training of new employees, as needed, on laboratory testing procedures, documentation requirements, and basic quality practices.
· Perform all other duties as assigned by Nitto’s management team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High School Degree or GED Required
· 2 Years of Experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing Preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES: (Preferred or Required)
· Working knowledge of laboratory testing practices, sample handling, and basic measurement principles (units, tolerances, and uncertainty awareness).
· Strong attention to data integrity and traceability (lot/batch/sample identification, record retention, and chain-of-custody).
· Possess effective communication skills (written and verbal), technical communication preferred.
· Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels.
· Ability to read, understand and interpret written information.
· Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
· Experience coordinating testing schedules and priorities to meet customer-required periodic testing deadlines (annual/bi-annual/as agreed).
· Ability to recognize and promptly escalate out-of-spec (OOS) or abnormal results per procedure.
· Basic understanding of document control and controlled forms (revision control, approvals, and retention). Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Detail oriented, accurate, well organized, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
· Exhibit self-discipline and motivation.
Salary Range: $50,403-$63,000
