Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure apartments, common areas ,and property grounds are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This position assists with preventive maintenance, responds to resident work orders, and supports the make ready of vacant apartments.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Complete work orders promptly and professionally, ensuring resident satisfaction and comply with Fair Housing.
- Assist with apartment make-ready tasks, including painting, cleaning, replacing fixtures, and minor repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment units, and common areas to identify maintenance issues.
- Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures; report hazards and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Assist in emergency maintenance situations (after-hours on-call rotation is required).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous maintenance, construction, or related labor experience a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair helpful.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in the United States legally.
Work Environment
This position requires both indoor and outdoor work. Must be able to perform physical labor and use a variety of tools and equipment safely. Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
