JJob Description:
Wired Sound Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled DJ Teacher to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on lessons in DJing to students of various ages and skill levels. A strong emphasis will be placed on working with younger students, so experience teaching kids is highly preferred. This role requires not only technical DJ expertise, but also the ability to inspire, mentor, and communicate effectively with developing artists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel heard, understood, and guided
- Lead one-on-one and group DJ sessions using Pioneer XDJ RX3, CDJs, Rekordbox, and Serato
- Arrive on time and prepared for each session
- Maintain a professional and welcoming studio presence
- Communicate clearly with both students and team members
- Take initiative in helping students progress and improve
- Stay organized and manage equipment and materials responsibly
- Teach core DJ skills such as beatmatching, mixing, track selection, and live performance techniques.
- Instruct students using industry-standard DJ equipment (e.g., Pioneer CDJs, Serato, Rekordbox, etc.)
- Offer constructive feedback and support to help students grow their DJ abilities.
- Stay current with trends in music and DJ culture to keep lessons fresh and relevant.
- Organize and assist with student showcases or live DJ set opportunities.
Requirements:
- Must be located in Fort Lauderdale or surrounding areas with a commute no longer than 25 minutes
- Proficient with Pioneer XDJ RX3, CDJs, Rekordbox, and Serato
- Minimum 5 years of professional DJ experience
- Highly professional, organized, and reliable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative
- Able to lead both individual and group sessions effectively
- Must be available during all listed hours without conflict
- Resume and EPK (Electronic Press Kit) required with application
Weekly Schedule (15.5 hours total):
- Saturday: 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Monday: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Thursday: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Compensation:
- $30/hour
- Potential to earn between $465 and $600/week, depending on experience and responsibilities
