We are seeking a detail-oriented DOT Compliance Assistant with strong experience in air cargo operations, freight forwarding, TSA security programs, and transportation compliance. This role ensures full regulatory compliance across domestic and international shipments while supporting safety, audit readiness, and documentation accuracy.
You will work closely with operations, warehouse teams, and carriers to maintain compliance with DOT regulations and TSA security requirements, including freight forwarding documentation, customs coordination, and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations (U.S. Department of Transportation) for transportation operations
- Support adherence to TSA (Transportation Security Administration) cargo security requirements, including Known Shipper / IAC programs
- Assist with air cargo security documentation and screening procedures
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers
- Prepare for and support internal and external audits (DOT, TSA, security compliance audits)
- Review and maintain shipment documentation for import/export compliance
- Track and resolve compliance issues, discrepancies, and corrective actions (CAPA)
- Maintain accurate records for regulatory inspections and reporting
- Support training for staff on compliance procedures and security protocols
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in DOT compliance, air cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics compliance
- Experience with freight forwarding documentation and workflows
- Familiarity with DOT compliance requirements for transportation operations
- Strong understanding of audit processes
- Ability to work with cross-functional logistics and warehouse teams
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Preferred Skills
- Experience with customs documentation / import-export coordination
- Prior involvement in TSA guidelines
- Experience in aviation logistics or international freight forwarding
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
